This Pohutukawa is a big beasty… and seriously hairy for a tree. I guess it is a native heheIts guards the bridge under Beach road at Waiake Beach, Torbay on Aucklands North Shore. I can remember climbing it as a youngun.
The nice cherry blossom trees have blossomed at work but they still have nice green leaves.You cant see any of that in this photo. apart from the shadows :)
I went to Paintball today with some people from work. It is out the back of Aucklands North Shore in Wainui up Haruru road. The scenery is awesome out that way… so is the Paintball.

Sakura NZ style. Im told these aren’t “cherry” blossoms but are in fact “peach” blossoms. However I was not advised of this by a botanist so who knows… maybe a botanist.
